The research library of the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History collects scholarly literature on the German and the European Contemporary History since 1945. Collections strengths include economic and social history, political history, cultural history as well as media history. The main emphasis of the collection lies on international literature on the history of the division and reunification of Germany.
The entire library stock consists of approx. 80 000 media items. In addition to books, audio-visual materials and currently 110 newspapers and periodicals the library offers access to a large variety of electronic periodicals and specialist databases.
The library primarily serves the staff of the ZZF, but is also open to students of the universities in Potsdam and Berlin as well as to all interested in Contemporary History. Persons interested in Special collections are kindly asked to call for advance notification.
